Description
The IFD20 triple infrared flame detector is a kind of new-type intelligent fire detection equipment. This detector adopts the multi-infrared sensing technology (MIR), and is provided with three infrared sensors with different wavelengths and narrow-band filtering. One sensor is used to reflect the central wavelength of the flame information, and the other two are used to monitor other infrared radiation in the environment. Combined with the flicker characteristics of the flame, the radiation spectrum with flame characteristics can be identified as a fire alarm by means of the operational analysis with the high-speed microprocessor and technical algorithm. This detector can suppress the interferences such as sunlight, lightning, electric welding, thermal radiation, electromagnetic interference, mechanical vibration, etc., is provided with strong anti-interference capacity, and can quickly respond to and accurately identify the flame signal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q
What sensing technology does the IFD2020 Triple Infrared Flame Detector use?
The IFD2020 uses Multi-Infrared Sensing (MIR) technology with three infrared sensors at different wavelengths and narrow-band filtering. One sensor detects the central wavelength of flame information, while the other two monitor ambient infrared radiation to distinguish genuine flames from false sources.
Q
What is the maximum detection distance of the IFD2020 flame detector?
The IFD2020 can detect a 0.3m × 0.3m n-heptane flame at a maximum distance of 50 meters, making it suitable for large open industrial and commercial spaces.
Q
What types of interference can the IFD2020 suppress?
The IFD2020 is engineered to suppress a wide range of interferences including sunlight, lightning, electric welding, thermal radiation, electromagnetic interference, and mechanical vibration — ensuring high reliability in demanding industrial environments.
Q
Is the IFD2020 suitable for use in explosive or hazardous environments?
Yes. The IFD2020 carries an explosion-proof certification marked as Ex db IIC T6 Gb / Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db, and features an IP66 protection rating, making it appropriate for use in hazardous and explosive environments.
Q
How do I adjust the sensitivity of the IFD2020 in the field?
Sensitivity can be adjusted using a magnetic rod without removing the detector's cap. This design simplifies field adjustments and maintenance, especially in environments where opening the housing would be inconvenient or hazardous.
Q
What output signals does the IFD2020 provide for integration with control systems?
The IFD2020 provides three output types: a 4–20mA standard analog current signal, a faulty relay passive output (AC: 3A 250V / DC: 3A 30V), and a fire alarm relay passive output (AC: 3A 250V / DC: 3A 30V), enabling seamless integration with various fire control and monitoring systems.
